International Conference “Egypt and Sustainable Development in Africa” Visions and Mechanisms of Activation in Light of the AU Agenda 2063 23-25 April 2019

Theme of The Conference
The African continent is witnessing a new steady momentum towards structural transformation after many years of conflict, turmoil and economic recession. The continent is once again moving towards a positive path of growth and political, social and economic transformation, which has led the continent to become more better than before.
In 2013, the African Union announced the 2063 Agenda of the “50th African Agenda” for Sustainable Development and Comprehensive Development in the Continent over the upcoming 50 years. The agenda is a guide for working that based on the principle of solidarity and an appreciation of what binds Africans to work together, at the Continental and Regional levels, and what is the required procedures at the national level.

The 2063 Agenda was framed through a wide consultative process involving several African stakeholders. The agenda includes an extensive review of development experiences in Africa, an analysis of the challenges and the possible opportunities today, Revising the national plans, and what are the regional and continental frameworks to implement the Agenda.
As Egypt is one of the most important regional power on the continent and according to the historical pioneer role of supporting the African national liberation movements, the Egyptian political leadership's directed towards the African continent in a strong and deep manner, and concurrence with the Egypt's presidency of the AU in January 2019, the conference is entitled: “Egypt and Sustainable Development in Africa: Visions and Activations Mechanisms in Light of the AU 2063 Agenda.

Regional integration and partnerships to achieve development goals, with a focus on South - South cooperation.

Issues of good governance and human rights in the African continent.
Political and economic empowerment on the African continent.
Issues of cultural identity, African heritage, and development of African societies.
Egypt and sustainable development in Africa in various sectors: (energy - industry - infrastructure - transport and communication - tourism - health - population - education).
Smart cities and sustainable urban development on the African continent.
Confronting climate change.
Natural resources and sustainable development in the African continent.
Geology and mineral resources in the African continent.
Popular diplomacy as one of the mechanisms of convergence and integration among African peoples.
Indicators and challenges of human security and human development in Africa.

Language, linguistics, and development issues in the African continent.
African languages position on sustainable development map.
Terrorism, regional conflicts, civil wars, border issues and their impact on sustainable development.

Deadline for abstracts submission: 2 February 2019.
Responding Accepted Abstracts: 9 February 2019.
Deadline for research papers reception: 16 March 2019.
Sending official invitations for participates:  23 March 2019.
Conference Fees
600 EGP for Egyptians
300 EGP for Egyptian graduate students
300 $ for foreigners
150 $ for foreign post graduate students
* On the occasion of Egypt's presidency of the AU in January 2019, non-Egyptian Africans are treated as African Egyptians. A copy of the passport should be sent from all the foreigners through submitting the paper summary to complete the procedures for participating in the conference.

The paper should be sent in Arabic or English.
Maximum number of words for paper is 7500 words including margins and references.
Type of font for Arabic research papers Simplified Arabic, size of 14, and titles 16.
The font type of the English research papers Times New Roman, size of 12, and titles 14.
